The app is free, offered as it stands, and what you do with what it downloads is your responsibility.

What you are getting

A free desktop application for Linux, published by Lightmorphic Ltd. You pay nothing, there is no account, and there is nothing to cancel. You may use it privately or commercially, and you may read its source.

Offered as it stands

The app is provided as-is, without warranty. It depends on yt-dlp and on YouTube continuing to serve subtitles in the way it does today, neither of which is under our control. If YouTube changes something and the app stops working, we will fix it if we reasonably can, but we cannot promise it will always work and we do not guarantee it is free of faults.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

What you download is your responsibility

Subtitles are usually somebody else's work. Downloading a copy for private study, accessibility, quotation or research is one thing; republishing it, selling it or passing it off as your own is another, and that is on you rather than on us. You are also responsible for keeping to YouTube's own terms of service. We do not grant you any right over material the app fetches, because it is not ours to grant.

The name and the mark

The source is open and you may build on it. The Castmorphic and Lightmorphic names, logos and marks are ours, and a version you have modified should not carry them in a way that suggests we published it.

Changes

These terms may change as the app does. The date at the foot of the page shows when they last did. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the version in force.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions about them go to [email protected].
